JAMUL, CALIFORNIA is one of the smaller cities that surrounds San Diego, located within San Diego County, with a population of just about 6,000 residents. You may be coming into the area to visit Steele Canyon Golf Club, Pio Pico Thousand Trails, Skydive San Diego, Indian Hills Camp, or perhaps Ohm's RV Ranch! There are some great vacation rental spots in the area too, so if you'd like to stay a while and enjoy everything the city has to offer, there are a lot of great options for you. No matter what you do, you've got to eat! So check out our favorite bars and restaurants in the 91935 zip!
is known best for their perfect pizzas, but what we really love are their pastas! The macaroni, the spumoni, the spaghetti... it's all fantastic. The ambiance is pure Italy, with the classic red checkered table cloths and the wine bottles hanging from the ceiling. Did we mention how wonderful the meatballs are here? Everything is truly top notch, right down to the quality of the service. You can find Filippi's Pizza Grotto at 13881 Campo Road.
is one of our favorite places to get those spicy Mexican flavors that you can't resist... and one of the reasons that it's so good is that it's truly one hundred percent authentic and family-run. We love the friendly staff here who always make sure that your meal is a great experience. We would most highly recommend the burritos and tacos, but anything on the menu is great. Good drinks too! You can find El Campo Mexican Restaurant on Campo Road near the intersection with Jefferson Road.
is actually located in nearby San Diego, and it gets our vote (and is worth the short drive!) because of the high quality food and excellent service. If you love barbecue food as much as we do, you will quickly become hooked on this restaurant. They're open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week, so no matter what day you're in town or what time, you can get some really good grub. Cattleman's Pit BBQ is located at 14019 California 94 in San Diego.
is located in nearby Spring Valley, and we think it's worth the drive from Jamul because of their unbelievable Greek Chicken, tasty pork ribs, and of course those incredibly juicy and generously sized hamburgers! The menu actually consists of a combination of Greek and Mexican items (hence the name!) and that's one of the things that makes this restaurant so very unique. You really haven't lived until you've had a Gyro Taco! You'll find Greek Sombrero on Campo Road between Canfield Road and Steele Canyon Road, in Spring Valley.
is located in nearby El Cajon, and we are primarily fans of this place for one specific dish that we simply cannot get enough of: The Corned Beef Tacos! Wow they are good! You can really get filled up on that item and wash it all down with one of their wonderful ice cold beers on draft. There are enough TVs scattered throughout the bar so you can catch the game while you're drinking and dining, and you'll love the high quality service and fun atmosphere. You can find this one on Jamacha Road between Campo Road and Cuyamaca College Drive West.
is always one of our favorite spots to hang out in nearby El Cajon, complete with all the pizza you could ever want, plus indoor rides like roller coasters, carousels, bouncy houses, video games, laser tag, and even bowling. We love bringing the kids in our family here for birthdays, and it's plenty of fun for the adults too. Lots of stuff to do. You will really enjoy it here. You can find Boardwalk Family Entertainment Center in nearby El Cajon on Fletcher Parkway near the intersection with North Marshall Avenue.
gets one of our recommendations for the best bar in the area because it's gone through a lot of heavy renovation lately and it's really looking fantastic. Though the ambiance has changed for the better, the service never needed to change at all, and we're happy to say that it's the same high quality fast and friendly service that it's always been! Great selection of beers, wonderful mixed drinks, and an overall great bar atmosphere! Located on East Main Street between Avocado Avenue and Taft Avenue.
is another favorite in nearby El Cajon, because it's so casual and comfortable, great for families or those special dates with the person that you love. The mall location may be a drawback for some, but we say that makes it perfect for an after-shopping meal! We would very highly recommend any of the pizzas and pastas, and we especially love the lemon chicken and Caesar salads! Very good stuff here. You'll be able to locate Pat & Oscar's restaurant at 375 Parkway Plaza in El Cajon.
is another Mexican restaurant in El Cajon that we simply couldn't leave off this list. The location is close enough to Jamul to make it a nice short drive for you, and that's not too far to go for delicious breakfasts, fabulous champagne brunches on the weekends, and even karaoke nights a couple of times per week! We've been here many times and we can confirm that the margaritas are the best! Gotta love this spot. You can find it on North Johnson Avenue near the intersection with Amale Avenue, in El Cajon.
is a combination steakhouse and Mediterranean restaurant. We absolutely love all the meat dishes here, they are really fantastic. And there are several good vegetarian choices too if that's your preference. We love to order the quail because it's cooked so perfectly, very juicy and flavorful. The Mediterranean decor is very pleasing to the eye as well. You will find Ali Baba in El Cajon at 421 East Main Street! Very highly recommended!
