This is a very popular coastal resort town, and has been since the late 1800s. If you'll be visiting Coronado, you'll want to know our top choices for dining and drinking in the area. These are our favorite bars and restaurants in the 92118 and 92178 zip codes!

Brigantine Seafood Restaurant

has had our heart for a while now! They've got some really wonderful seafood here, and yet the prices are nice and low so you can spend a little more on your vacation and a little less on your dining. It's been open since 1973, and no restaurant can stand the test of time for that long without being something special. The service is outstanding. And did we mention they've got their very own beer here? Fantastic! You'll find Brigantine Seafood Restaurant on Orange Avenue near the intersection with Adella Avenue.

Chez Loma

for those who love French food, is a true haven of a restaurant. The building actually used to be a house, so it's got a very cozy and homey feeling that we just love. The food is unique and presented with flair. Some say it's a little too expensive, but we say you get what you pay for here. They've got a $25 early dinner menu that will help you to save a few bucks too. The service is truly wonderful here, very old fashioned and friendly. You can find Chez Loma on Loma Avenue between Loma Lane and California 75.

Miguel's Cocina Mexican Restaurant

is the only name you need to know if you're a Mexican food lover in Coronado! The food is nothing short of superb, and the margaritas on their own are so good that they'd be a reason to stop in! Pair those together and you've got a meal worth talking about. They've got a gorgeous patio with plenty of shade from the sun and a nice breeze to cool you off. We highly recommend the jalapeno cheese sauce which comes along with the chips and salsa. Wow, it is addictive! You'll find Miguel's on Orange Avenue near the intersection with Adella Avenue.

Il Fornaio

is a charming Italian restaurant that serves up some of the very best food and drinks we have ever tasted! They've got a wine list that is definitely worth mentioning here, and we're working our way through trying everything on it. So good. They've got a really beautiful view to enjoy, and before your dinner even arrives you'll be enjoying their hot fresh bread. We once went here for a holiday dinner that included some of the best roast chicken we've ever had. Very highly recommended! You can find Il Fornaio on 1st Street near the intersection with C Avenue.

1500 Ocean

is yet another wonderful French restaurant that we simply couldn't bear to leave off this list. We've been here many times, partially for the beautiful view and partially for the amazing food! The service is also really outstanding. We love the location attached to historic Hotel Del, which makes it a great place to stay. We'd highly recommend the river caught Steelhead Salmon. It's really mouth wateringly good. You can find this one on Orange Avenue between Pomona Avenue and Avenida Del Sol.

Coronado Boathouse 1887 - CLOSED

is a historic building that has stood in Coronado since 1887, and it was the original model for historic Hotel Del. We really love sitting on their outdoor porch which overlooks the water, and it's the perfect way to cool off and catch a great breeze while sipping your delicious drinks. They've got a banquet room for your special occasions, and since they are open seven days a week it's a perfect place to stop in for lunch or dinner anytime. We highly recommend the Macadamia Nut Crusted Halibut! You can find Coronado Boathouse 1887 on Strand Way between Avenida De Las Arenas and Avenida Del Sol.

Candelas on the Bay

is a wonderful Mexican and Southwestern restaurant with a decidedly contemporary feel compared to many of the more old fashioned establishments that you're familiar with. We love the romantic setting, the outdoor seating area, and of course that great live music that they often have on the weekends. We love all of the entrees here, but what we most recommend is an appetizer - the ceviche with avocado! It's fantastic. You can find Candelas on the Bay on 1st Street near the intersection with Orange Avenue.

Primavera Ristorante

as you can tell by the name, is an elegant Italian restaurant in Coronado where you'll enjoy really great food, truly top notch, and service that will make you feel like you've stepped back in time. It's no wonder... this place has been in business since 1989 and no restaurant lasts that long without having great service. We love the shrimp scampi over linguini! All of the entrees are delicious, and the appetizers are definitely worth a look too. You'll find this charming restaurant on Orange Avenue between 9th Street and 10th Street.

Coronado Brewing Co

is really the only place you need to be familiar with if you're seeking an awesome brewery in Coronado. This place has some of the best beer we've ever tasted, including an impressive selection of microbrews, local brews, and other rare finds. Many breweries leave something to be desired when it comes to the food, but Coronado Brewing Co really goes all out. We recommend the Mermaid Ale, the Whiskey Barrel Stout, and of course that delicious Coffee Stout. Too good! You can find Coronado Brewing Co on Orange Avenue between 1st Street and 2nd Street.

Burger Lounge

may not be a name that sticks in your mind, but believe us when we say it's something unique that's worth checking out! The burgers are made only from premium organic grass fed beef, and the atmosphere is very trendy and fun. They've got wonderful onion rings too, the vegetarians in your party will be happy to know that their veggie burgers are out of this world! You will find Burger Lounge on Orange Avenue between 9th Street and 10th Street!
