has got to be mentioned because it's such a well-known part of California culture. When McDonald's is to the rest of the country, Jack in the Box is to us. Since the early fifties this fast food restaurant has been pleasing diners at its drive thru with great breakfasts, hamburgers, French fries, and all your fast food favorites. Peking Wok Chinese Restaurant
is one of the very best Chinese restaurants in the Bonsall area, and after many years of dining here, we can tell you that they are always fresh and consistent. We love the soups (especially Three Flavor Sizzling Rice Soup!) and the lo mein dishes, and they've got a really fantastic orange chicken that you'll quickly become addicted to as well. Peter's Chicken is fantastic too. Very fast and friendly service, and a warm inviting atmosphere that makes you feel so welcome. You will find Peking Wok Chinese Restaurant on South Mission Road near the intersection with Thoroughbred Lane.
Fresco Grill
is a wonderful Italian steakhouse that has all your fresh favorites from seafood to steaks to chicken and shrimp. We love the clean and beautifully decorated atmosphere, and they've got a full bar and impressive wine list too. It's very romantic here, perfect for those special dates and anniversaries, or even for Valentine's Day. We love listening to the live music, and the staff always provides excellent service that makes you feel like a VIP. Very highly recommended. You will find Fresco Grill at 5256 Mission Road.
Estrella's Family Restaurant
definitely gets our recommendation. We love the name of this cozy family restaurant ("estrella" means "star" in Spanish). The atmosphere here is a little more casual and bar-like than most Mexican establishments, and that break from the norm is one of the things that makes Estrella's a favorite. The food is really out of this world. Our favorite has got to be the Chiles Rellenos. You get a very nice large portion for an affordable price here. Great place when you really want to fill up on some fabulous food! Located on Mission Road near the intersection with Olive Hill Road.
Cortez Mexican Food
is another Mexican establishment that makes our list due to the incredible food and that fast and friendly service. They're known for their mouth watering Carne Asada Fries, and they've also got a Carne Asada Burrito that is loaded with lots of sour cream, guac, and cheese. Clearly their Carne Asada menu items are the way to go. It's just too irresistible and too perfectly prepared to pass up. Village Pizza
is one of those California pizza joints that's good enough to stack up with the New York and Chicago pizzerias that are world famous for their incredible pies. These high quality pizzas are so mouthwateringly good, they are worth a trip! It's not just the pizza that makes Village Pizza worth visiting though. Be sure to try their wonderful pastas, sandwiches, and chicken wings. Everything is hot and fresh, and always served with that old fashioned style of service that we love. Sunrize in Bonsall - CLOSED
is a Pan-Asian, Pacific Rim, and Polynesian restaurant that serves up many American favorites as well as some of the most eclectic and exciting dishes that you'll find in all of Bonsall. There are even some Mexican touches on the menu. We love coming in for breakfast because they've got a huge variety of omelettes and lots of wonderful fresh fruit to pair with them. The outdoor seating area is just as charming as the indoor area. You will find Sunrize in Bonsall at 5256 South Mission Road.
Sazio Ristorante Italiano
is rumored to have the best Italian food in Bonsall, and based on our visits, we'd have to agree. They've got some of the very best pizza we have ever tasted, and also some really mouth watering pastas. We're big fans of their spaghetti, and their seafood is also superb. It is tough to find a more romantic spot than this in Bonsall, and the food is truly worth a rating of five stars. Very highly recommended. Ringer's Cocktail Lounge
is a laid back night spot in Bonsall where you can hang out with your old friends from the neighborhood, enjoy some cheap yet strong drinks, and enjoy the old fashioned service that you haven't been treated to in quite some time. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, which matches up perfectly with the crowds that chill here. Great place to enjoy a few drinks and some good conversation! Rio Rico Mexican Restaurant - CLOSED
may be one of many Mexican restaurants on this list, but it made the list for a reason. It can definitely hold its own when compared with the best of the best. The restaurant is nice and roomy so you never have to wait long for a table, and the service is great. Very friendly and fast.
