Janet's Montana Cafe
is such a pleasant place to dine when you're in the Alpine area. The prices are nice and low, which fits perfectly with the style of comfort food that you get here! Both comfort in your belly and in your wallet! Now that's what we're talking about. The portions are absolutely giant, and they've got all your classic American favorites here. The one item that we are really hooked on here is the Country Eggs Benedict. They're worth even a long drive. Gotta love the waffles with ice cream too! Everything is fantastic here, including the down home old fashioned service. Janet's Montana Cafe is located on Alpine Boulevard between Bay Meadows Drive and Terrace Knoll.
Vine's Wine Bar & Bistro
is one of the most intimate and cozy spots to drink and dine in Alpine. You may not expect a wine bar like this to be family run, but it is, and all of the food that is offered on the menu is home cooked and delicious. We really love the warm Italian ambiance, and the fact that it feels like you're visiting longtime friends in their home rather than walking into an unfamiliar restaurant. This is a top notch experience from top to bottom, from the wonderful wine selections to the elegant entrees. Very highly recommended. Grove Steakhouse
at Viejas Casino has got to be the highest quality and classiest restaurant in all of Alpine. The Filet Medallions are one of our biggest reasons to visit, but you can't go wrong with any item on the menu. Also be sure to try the Tomato Florentine Soup. We've tried many steakhouses in the San Diego area, and this one always seems to come out on top. There's nothing better than heading into Grove Steakhouse fresh out of the casino after you've won a nice amount of cash, and spending a chunk of those winnings on a really great dinner for yourself and your friends. You will find Grove Steakhouse within Viejas Casino, located at 5000 Willows Road in Alpine.
Mediterraneo
is a fabulous Mediterranean restaurant in Alpine that always serves up the freshest and most delicious meals, along with some really great beers on tap, or wine if you prefer. They've got a very nice selection. The vibe here is more bistro than restaurant, and they've got plenty of specials for early dinners that will really help you to save a few bucks. Be sure to try their steak happy hour special, it's fantastic! The prices here are a little higher than most, but we say it's definitely worth it. You can find Mediterraneo on Tavern Road between Administration Way and Alpine Boulevard.
Carl's Jr.
has to have a mention on our Alpine page, because it's so synonymous with the great fast food of California. This chain of restaurants has been doing its thing since the forties, pleasing hungry diners fast, and we love that. Did you know that Carl's Jr. is responsible for introducing the drive-thru window? How could we not give props to the fast food establishment that's responsible for that? Now head on over there and bite into one of their juicy burgers! Makes a great quick stop during those wild bar hopping party bus trips or bachelor party outings!
La Carreta Mexican Restaurant
at Alpine Creek Shopping Center has got to be our favorite place for Mexican flavor in the Alpine area. Don't let the shopping center atmosphere put you off... once you step through those doors you'll feel nothing but authenticity and a welcoming vibe. They start it all off with their great chips and salsa, and then head into those fabulous entrees. We're big fans of the chiles rellenos and the cheese enchiladas. The quality is unprecedented! Your tastebuds will be very pleased with everything here. Classy and comfortable, La Carreta can be found on Tavern Road between Administration Way and Alpine Boulevard.
Tapatio's
is one of the few Mexican restaurants in Alpine that we simply could not leave off this list because their food is so good! You may be tempted to pass this place up, with it being such a little hole in the wall type of establishment, but don't. You don't want to miss their Carnitas Plate, or their Carne Asada Burrito! Everything on the menu is of the highest quality, prepared just perfectly, and served with a smile, which we appreciate. Great prices here too! You can find Tapatios on Alpine Boulevard near the intersection with Marshall Road.
Bongiovanni's Italian Restaurant
is THE place to go in Alpine for fantastic pizza and Italian food! The pizza is so thick and delicious with a very generous sprinkling of cheese and toppings. Many people will tell you that they've got the best pizza in town. We are also hooked on their pasta dishes, including their wonderful spaghetti and meatballs. Great salads too, and many appetizers to choose from. This restaurant has been going strong since 1972 with good reason. Bongiovanni's Italian Restaurant is located on Olde Highway 80 between Marina Springs Lane and Flinn Crest Street.
Casino Inn
is one of those cozy little bars that you visit once and just find yourself returning to time and time again. It's all about the great friendly service, the warm friendly rustic atmosphere, and of course the great music. We love to stop in with our friends to shoot some pool and play our favorite picks on the juke box. Of course the service is outstanding, with a very friendly staff and also lots of great regulars to make conversation with if you happen to come in by yourself. You can find Casino Inn on Alpine Boulevard between Peutz Valley Road and Tavern Road.
Nori Sushi Bar & Grill
has been one of our favorites for quite a while now, thanks to their unique flavors and excellent service. We are big fans of ceviche in general, and we're really in love with their ceviche roll! Note that it's not on the menu so you'll have to ask for it. They've got some of the freshest sushi and sashimi that we've ever tasted, and for those who aren't into the raw fish scene, you will love the Chicken Katsu as well as their teriyaki dishes. Wonderful atmosphere, great service, and always packed with happy customers! You can find Nori Sushi Bar & Grill on Willows Road!
